Cleaning your A/C units on the outside twice a year keeps the air flowing and the inside cool.  However, it does nothing for the vents inside.  I wash my inside filters every month to keep the dust and debris from gathering and the inside smelling fresh.  When they wear out, and yes, they will, this has been a great replacement product.  Just cut to fit and go back to rinsing and repeating.
