Life in a RV

It’s been pretty quiet in the RV this last couple of months. I’ve been focused on writing our new Children’s book series and Dave is golfing, golfing, golfing. We may not move back to Mississippi unless we can find this perfect little setup. I’ve got the she-shed for my craft projects, and he’s got the golf course. It actually is almost perfect. We’ve even got the water, although, I still find myself taking the long drive, either east or west, to look at those beautiful rolling waves.

Duck season has finally ended on Orange Lake and coming from two people that grew up in Minnesota, that was one loooong duck season. The good part is that Rocky no longer seems to have issues with the sound of shotguns in the air. The boys recently got their spring haircuts, and they needed them. With the warmer weather starting again, we are starting to see more and more of the turtles and songbirds appear in our area. The trees have also started to get their new leaves, so we do have a nice, green coat of pollen on everything. Our little area did have a couple nights of actual freezing temps at the end of January, so I’ll be headed to the local garden center to pick up my annuals shortly. Yep, annual flowers in February.

I talked about getting a job in my last post, and I did land one. I started cashiering at a big box store in my area and even though I was very clear about the number of hours I was willing to work, they kept scheduling me for up to 40 hours a week. I really enjoyed meeting new people and interacting and it was constantly busy, but I’m not doing the 40 hours a week as a cashier. That is just too long. So, I’m on the lookout again for something with fewer hours. In the meantime, I am continuing to add states to our new series.

Our kids have been great about sharing short videos of the grandkids, multiple times a week. And grandbaby number 3 will be arriving in May, so we’ve got a lot to look forward to again, this year. We still aren’t sure what we will be doing this summer. There will definitely be a trip to Minnesota, but no idea when, or for how long. Definitely after new granddaughter Sarff arrives.

Homer will be getting some outside maintenance over the next few weeks. The Florida sun is tough on a paint job, although a good wash, compound rub and wax, seem to bring the shine right back. In the meantime, we will continue to enjoy our beautiful Florida weather and hope all of you are well and staying warm.

See ya on the road,

Dave and Theresa

  1. Hey guys! I would really like to talk to you and catch up. I don’t have your number any longer. I’m thinking about calling Cogs to get it from him. Here is mine 410-610-3629. I will be in Florida soon and not far from you, it would be great to see you both.

Thanks for reading about our latest adventure. What did you think?
